It snowed in the mountains yesterday thing are cooling off in the valley. Chelstiene would be so happy. I hope shes enjoying the weather in Oregon.
She sent an email the other day saying she isn't hearing for me. I know I send her emails and letters so I didn't know what she was talking about. Well today I received a letter back that I had sent her. It made it to the mission office in Oregon and they forwarded it on to her in Gladstone, but for whatever reason it couldn't be delivered. So I will try again. I just don't want her thinking no one cares.
We've been working on getting her prescriptions to her in Oregon. Not an easy process, and Chelstiene being Chelstiene is stressing about it. So Sister Mosby her mission Presidents wife called Jeff on Wednesday and asked if we had sent the medicine to her. Which I did on Monday. He told her to tell Chelstiene take a chill pill. Sister Mosby said she didn't think she could do that and Jeff said do it she'll know who it came from. I hope she gets the package I sent her since the letter was returned to me.
Poor Ashlynn has hand-foot-and mouth disease and Lydia has thrush. Poor kids and poor parents. We took Ashlynn over some "papa water" (flavored water) and some push-pops tonight. I pulled a grandma move and walked in opened up a push-pop and handed it to Ashlynn. Didn't ask the parents or anything. But thats what being a grand-parent is for. Spoiling the kids then leaving them with the parents.

Blessings
So our Home Teachers came over today. Abe ask if we noticed any extra blessing since Chelstiene went on her mission. At first I said no. Since she got her mission call we've had 2 cars break down, 2 family members pass away, my knee seems worse, family members in the hospital and other things. But when it come to blessing I guess it's how you look at things. With both cars we've made it home safe. The family members who have been in the hospital are all safe and well. Yes we lost some loved ones, but I got a chance to meet some extended family members. I got to enjoy extra family and got to know them better. I like to have family and to enjoy them. Maybe they will help me appreciate the family I have close to me. We all tend to forget how lucky we are to have our family close to us until they are gone then we are full of regrets. I rather have no regrets and love the ones with me now then think of the "what ifs" or "I wish".
We all have a lot of blessing if we just look. I'm grateful for the fact I have food in my stomach, a roof over my head, and a bed to sleep in, family that loves me. I'm grateful for the rain, a beautiful sunny day, the smell of rain, the beauty of the changing leaves on the trees and the sound of the birds.
You just have to have a positive look and see all that god has given each of us. It just tends to be easier to ignore the good and focus on the negative.

Second Good Bye
So Friday Jeff and I went to a museum in Cedar City and then headed down to Enterprise Utah. Jeff's Uncle Jeff (Connie's ex-husband) didn't want us staying in Cedar when he had plenty of room at his house. So we went down and hung out with Connies kids. It was nice getting to know them better. Last time I really got to know them was years ago and did really have much in common with them because they are a bit younger than I am. Now there grown up and some have kids of there own. They are a fun group of people and I would like to keep in touch with them a lot better.
Connie's funeral was beautiful and special. The kids did a great job at getting it all together. Their dad was such a strong support to them all.

It was a long week and very emotionally stressful. It's too bad that families get together more often for the sad things and not happy things. I did get a letter from Chelstiene and a bunch more pictures. The video get me a little teary eyed. But I'm so glad shes happy.
Letters came Friday or Saturday. I know ash got hers also. What's with you and cameras. Why do I have to buy a gps

I am a little annoyed that no one has gotten any of my letters. I hope that you guys are doing ok. Is jeff doing ok with Aunt Connie and Taz's dad? How is gpa Mike? I was going to write him, but if no one is receiving my letters I dont see a reason in trying. I am going to buy some boots today and later on I will need to buy a GPS.... Also I kind of broke my camera and I lost my warranty!!!!! But either way I wouldnt be able to have it fixed because the Walmart we have her is only a grocery store. So im going to buy a new one at the smiths and hopefully I wont brake it!! I hope your getting my letters because in one of the I sent my memory card!!!! This is getting quite annoying. Things are going pretty well here. Tracting is kind of awkward but I am getting used to it. ummmm.... Yeah. I hope you wont kill me for braking the camera!!! eek!!!!

Saying Goodbye
Today was the funeral for Tony, It was a nice and very emotional funeral. Taz did stay on his Mission which is good. The family has plenty of people to take care of them until Taz returns home. From what I learned today Tony loved to do "projects", loved playing guitar, dutch oven cooking, playing pirate, making people smile, loved to learn, ham radio, and of course his family. He was a amazing person.
Saturday we will have a second funeral for Jeff's aunt Connie, she passed away on Tuesday September 10, 2013. This is becoming a very emotional and exhausting week for the family. One death is hard but 2 in one week is almost impossible. I guess you just have to hold on tighter to your faith and believe that all will be ok in the end.

Well I am finally in Oregon, but I guess all start with the MTC first. The MTC was really fun, but the schedule was so strict I felt like they had my bathroom breaks all planed out! While I was there we got to teach a mock investigator and it was alot of fun. I learned to such. The biggest thing I learned was to teacher by the spirit because he knows that the investigater needs to know more than I. We also did TRC which is teaching an investigator, but you dont know if they are an actor or not. The first lady my taught (Gabby) was really hard she was a active Catholic and went to her church everyweek and shes married to an LDS man and she also goes to his church every week. I think is was really hard to teacher her because she wasnt opened to listen to want we wanted to say and felt like she wanted to do a bible bash, so sister Beames and I just answered her questions the best we could and left. Another lady we taught was a less active lady and so talked to her about her family and then sher said My bishop said you had a message and so we gave it to her. at the end she decided she needed to go back to church she was just so busy that lasy few months she couldnt make it. The plane ride was ok; I didnt care for it much. Oregon is beautiful
!!! there are so many trees and rivers that flow through this place it is crazy! My new companions name is Sister Gillies she is very nice a sweet and its fun to teach with her. One lady her name is Micky is inactive because she had a hard time understanding the scriptures so her and her old companion were doing scriptures study with her to help her understand batter, so thats what we did last night and it was amazing! The spirit was so stonger and she new what the scriptures were saying 90% of the time. The area I am in kind of reminds me of our west valley/ west jordan home are. Its kind of a more poor area and you can tell alot of them are unemployed because when its nine people are still home. I am so excited to be here. I miss you guys so much, but I know this is where im suppose to be. How is Ashlynn and Lydia? Is mom always updating my facebook? I feel like she is lol! how are the sibling? are you guys still doing dinner for the 3rd sunday? I hope to receive a letter from my niece soon!! Did she get my letter I sent her? I sent one to Krys also. I love you and will talk to you later!! Make sure you use my new address is your sending my letters!

Lost life and new beginnings.
Jeff's uncle Tony passed away on Saturday 9/7/2013. He fought a good fight against brain cancer for the last 2 1/2 years. He leaves behind a wonderful family who loved him very much. He love pirates and dutch oven cooking.

Taz his son is currently serving a mission in Missouri St. Louis Mission he left for the MTC April 25, 2012. I don't know if he'll be coming home. I know he's been able to make extra phone calls home to talk with his dad. Which is good. At least with the LDS religion we believe that families can be together forever. Death is just one more thing that we must learn and endure before we can all be with Heavenly Father and all our families again one day.
On a separate note, I got to talk with Chelstiene today. She call me from the airport before her flight out to Portland. A nice lady let some of the New Missionaries use her phone to call their parents. Thank you to who ever you were that could be so nice.
Chelstiene sounded good. She was very excited. I was glad to hear other Missionaries were flying with her (since this is her very first time flying), 21 to be exact. Sister Beames was with her also. She was so happy to talk with me but then she started crying and so did I. She asked if I got her bedding sent off (which I did), asked about her pets, and said she loved me.
A lady in our ward (Chelstienes twin) was asked if she was excited to go on a mission. She thought it was quite funny. Every one asks how she is doing and tells me that she will be an amazing missionary. She will be awesome. The people in Oregon are so lucky to have her there with them.

Rain
Wow yesterday the wind was blowing so much it looked like there was a fire surrounding us and then the "Lake Stink". Oh nothing smells worse than that. Brad had plans to go to the Woods Cross football game, but he was having second thought because of the smell. It cleared up to be a nice night, so he went to the game. Woods Cross stopped Viewmont 41 to 6. Go Wild Cats!!!!! Then today the rain storms hit. Provo and Utah county seem to have gotten the worse of it. They had required evacuations in areas of Alpine. I wonder how Chelstiene did? Jeff says it's gods way of getting her ready for Oregon.
I did get a surprise email from her today. Short and sweet.

I love the little things that let me know that she is happy and OK My mom says I'm having a harder time with all this then she is. It's probably true. I'm just not used to not having my mini-me there when ever I need someone to talk to.
I wonder what she writes to others?
When I send a letter it will be full of detail! but here at the MTC we only have so much time to write home.

Meeting New People
So Chelstiene had me forward some pictures to her companion Sister Beames' dad. I have learned that they are from Wilard Utah, she is the youngest of 3. She has a older sister and her brother just came back from a mission to Uganda. It's exciting to meet new people. I hope Chelstiene has as much fun meeting new people as I do.
I sent her 2 Packages today one to the MTC and the other to Portland. I hope she enjoys them. I added a note to each package. I like letters better than email, because it's something you can always have to look back at.

Labor Day Weekend 2013
Back from a fun time camping. It was weird not having Chelstiene there to entertain me. I missed the annoying British accent and the weird noises she makes. We worked on the bathroom at the property.
Ashlynn drove the Barbi Jeep up and down the road. She did pretty good. No crashes but she didn't like going fast.
We had to make sure someone walk with her as she drove to tell her to turn the wheel or give her a little push when she got stuck on the gravel.
Danell and Blake came in there new little trailer. It's small but just enough for them and there size family. It's cute: it has bunk bed and the table folds out for a bed for Danell and Blake. It's very nice inside. I think they a happy and proud of it.
Grandma Jean, Kim, Jerry and Kalie came and of course Mike and Debbie. Then there was me and Jeff and of course Lady came. She did pretty good camping but wherever I was she wanted to be which gets a little annoying at times but all was good.
It's always nice to spend time with family and relax and enjoy nature. It's amazing to look and truly see what God has created.
