Happy New Years Eve

It's been a year full of experiences. I got a new position at work (April 2013), Lydia was born (March 2013), Chelstiene went on a mission to Portland Oregon (August 2013), remodled part of the house (2014) we lost two family members who went back to live with Heavenly Father Tony Schriver and Connie Adams (September 2013), adopted Chelstiene's pets while she gone on her mission, and watched how Chelstiene has grown and developed while she's away. Jeff broke his thumb and had kidney stone surgery (December 2013). Chelstiene's dog got a bad ear infection (December 2013). I was in the ER for my foot (November 2013) (my surgery is in January 2014).

There has been a lot of good, a lot of bad and plenty of sad. But we all grow and make it threw the best we can. We still have a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, jobs to go to (whether we want to or not), we still have family with us and memories of those who are not.

Happy New Year

Merry Christmas

The best part of Christmas is spending it with family. So much family and so many parties. This year we only had to travel to one house (Mike and Debbie's). Danell and her family had to do a lot of traveling however.

Brad woke us up at 7:30 and I thought we would get to sleep in silly me.
Danell and her family came over about 10:30

and Chelstiene called us at 11:00. It was so good to hear her voice. We talked as long as we could find stuff to talk about, she's doing good, she ate beaver (yes the animal), she eats dinner at peoples houses every day. Today they were going to have lunch with one family and dinner with another. She talk to everyone who was at the house. We kept trying to find things to talk about because neither of us wanted to say goodbye, but alas we had to say goodbye. My sister and there families came over at 1:30. I made all the kids sock monkeys 10 in all. It was fun giving them to the kids. Olivia and Marco really loved theirs. Lydia liked eating hers.

At 3:00 we were at Mike and Debbies

and then home for the night.

We took my mom to the Forgotten Carols the week before. It was a fun time watching how excited she was with the surprise.

It's been a rough month, 2 Emergency room visits I have 3 bone spurs that need surgery and Jeff has a EVIL kidney stone that just isn't playing nice and he broke his finger this month. But will all thing this will pass and things will get back to normal, well as normal as things get.

Merry Christmas

Chelstiene Reeves
To Me

Well I didnt get transferred and I didnt get a new companion. I am kind of bummed because I am tired of being here in Gladstone and now Im stuck here for 6 more weeks! and I dont like my companion. I try to love her but it is so hard we are complete opposites and she is kind of a beast. and I just want to come home!!!! Normally after being trained you start training, but i am not, so now I feel like I have failed you guys and god. and UGH!!! I just..... Dont want to do this anymore. In my internship in high school I was taught to "Fake it till you make it" but I can only do that for so long and now i am just getting week. I have waking up at 615 everyday. and I absolutely hate tracting. Maybe I just needed to vent, but as of right now I want to go home, So pray for strengthen for me, so that I stay. I hope things are going well for you, sorry to be such a bummer, I just dont know what to do. I love you! Stay safe

Atleast she is finding ways to celebrate the holidays and she made most of the stuff.

Happy Thanksgiving

We we to Jeff's sisters house to celebrate with family. It was a fun time, somewhat lacking without Chelstiene there. We ate way to much food, played some silly games, ate pie and enjoyed being with family. It's times like these that we realize what we are thankful for but we should do that every day. Some days it is hard to do but there is always something small that we can be grateful for.

I am grateful for my husband no matter how grumpy he can be, my son Brad because he is a awesome kid (he even made me breakfast in bed yesterday) Danell for always trying to be the best she can be, Chelstiene for being my mini me and helping me find good in life. Then there's my grand-kids who bring new life to our family. MY Mother and Father in law for caring for me and my kids. My mom because she is my mom. I even am grateful for my Brother and sisters even though we may not really know much about each other any more because we all have our own families. There's nieces and nephews and all my other family. So yes I am grateful for my family. I miss the family members we've lost but sill love them. I'm grateful for a roof over my head, food in my stomach, the job I go to everyday.

There's so much to be grateful for.

Halloween in Oregon

I have a funny story to tell you about Halloween! So on Halloween we had to be home at 6:00 pm unless we were at a ward function. so we got home about 7:00 pm or so and started doing our weekly planning. It was almost 10:00 When I heard someone coming up the stairs and i said "Sister Gillies the door is unlock and someone is comming up the stairs!!" Then she told me to lock it but I was too scared so I just sat there. Then! the people knocked on the door and I said "OH MY GOSH SISTER GILLIES!!!" So she walked over to open the door and I slowly followed and when she opened it two people were there in spider man masks and said "Trick or Treat!" and they sprayed us with silly string and took pictures of us! Turns out is was Brother and Sister Mead! They are so funny!! They made our night cause it kinda sucks being home for Halloween, but it all worked out! That's my story :)

Dear Sister Gillies and Sister Reeves,

We are ward missionaries in the Gladstone ward and work with your wonderful
daughters. We thought you might enjoy viewing the pictures of their visit on
Halloween night from Spiderman and Spiderwoman and their "wonder dog" !
That silly string was A LOT of fun!!
Thank you for your love and support of your daughters, they are really great
missionaries and are making a difference in the lives of many people in our
area!

Yes, they call me Sister Reeves. UGH

Slacker

So I've been quite a slacker on blogging lately. Time is just flying by, but now the holidays are coming I seem to miss Chelstiene more.

October was a fun month for us we continued to go camping even though there was snow. Ashlynn made snow castles and ate a lot of snow. Slept in  bed with PAPA and even had a snow ball fight by the fire.

I went up with the boys for the deer hunt. They didn't get anything which I have mixed feeling about.
Brad even made a snowman to "sacrifice to the fire gods" hoping for a good hunt.
Even though it was cold it was so beautiful If you just open your eyes you can see God all around you.

We decorated cookie a week before Halloween and of course played Boo Bingo. They on Halloween we went trick or treating with Ashlynn, Lydia and Kalie. Grandpa Mike even came walking with us. Ashlynn was a fairy/Tinker Bell, Lydia was a cat and Kalie was a cat. It is always fun to spend time with family even when they drive you crazy.

Chelstiene is doing great on her Mission. She gets to experience new converts and baptisms. This is Carson.
The families seem to take good care of her out there. They carved Pumpkins with her and her companion and took them to a Pumpkin Patch. Her smile gets bigger all the time. This is Carson and his family

We mustn't for get her Companion
